Meet Joshua.

Joshua Alvarez is a seasoned educator and ministry leader with a passion for cultivating both minds and hearts. He currently serves as a middle school principal in the Coachella Valley, where he leads with a focus on student success, campus safety, and a culture of excellence. Prior to his current role, Joshua taught music for twelve years and served as an instructional coach for three, supporting teachers in curriculum development, instructional strategies, and technology integration.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education (2007) and a Master’s degree in Music Performance (2009) from the University of Redlands, as well as a second Master’s in Educational Administration (K–12) from California State University, San Bernardino. In 2019, he was recognized as District Teacher of the Year by the Desert Sands Unified School District.

In 2021, following the passing of his father, Pastor Richard Alvarez, Joshua became the lead pastor of Oasis Apostolic Church in Oasis, California. He continues a multigenerational legacy of faith and service within the Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus, where he has served in various regional and national leadership roles.

Joshua and his wife, Diana Muñoz Alvarez, are proud parents of four children—Noah, Naomi, Nathaniel, and Nehemiah. Together, they are passionate about building strong families, strong churches, and strong communities. Whether in the classroom or the pulpit, Joshua’s mission remains the same: to sow purpose, faith, and identity into the next generation.
